Slàinte maith, h-uile latha, na chi 'snach fhaic!
(Good health, every day, whether I see you or not!)

We have joined with Alpena weaver Kati Reeder Meek to urge our state legislators to adopt an official tartan for the State of Michigan.  Kati has designed a unique pattern using colors found in the geography of our Great Lake State and has registered it with various tartan authorities, and she has given us permission to use her design as this website's background wallpaper.

In support of this measure, Representative Richard LeBlanc (District 18, D-Westland) has introduced House Bill 4110, and it is under consideration by the House Committee on Government Operations.  The following legislators are members of that committee:

Representative Bob Constan (District 16 - D), chairperson                                (517)  373-0849

Representative Lesia Liss (District 28 - D), vice-chairperson                             (517)  373-2275

Representative Marc R. Corriveau (District 20 - D)                                          (517)  373-3816

Representative Kevin Daley (District 82 - R)                                                    (517)  373-1800

Representative Tom McMillin (District 45 - R)                                                 (517)  373-1773

Representative Mike Simpson (District 65 - D)                                                 (517)  373-1775

Representative Jim Slezak (District 50 - D)                                                     (517)  373-3906

Representative John Walsh (District 19 - R)                                                     (517)  373-3920

Representative Rebekah Warren (District 53 - D)                                             (517)  373-2577

We ask all persons reading this to contact your elected officials without delay!  You can use our petition to gather signatures from the Michigan residents around you and send them to Representative LeBlanc's office.  Even better, contact the Committee members listed above and urge them to recommend passage of this proposed legislation!

For two years, this project has been underway - and with your help, it can at last achieve success.

Respectfully,

Jean Dohanyos

Secretary; SASM
